Welcome to kart racing on Vancouver Island at Western Speedway – The island’s dedicated track for over 12+ years

Vancouver Island Kart Racing (VIKR) is a Rotax/Briggs sealed engine series to promote the most cost efficient Karting.   However, the growth of Karting is also a primary objective for VIKR, therefore non compliant existing karts (engines) will be welcomed.   VIKR will help transition all non compliant Karts to a sealed engine program.

We have “sealed engine” classes for guys and gals of all age groups and welcome your interest, whether new or renewed.   If you’re a young gal and wanna show the guys you know how to drive to the checkered flag, this is the place to be.   Don’t be intimidated, we have novice classes and will walk you through the paces so you’re comfortable on the track.  

We are passionate about mentoring new participants, young or “young at heart”!

If you’re wanting to get your driver’s license and want to get incredible driving experience and helpful advice from others, come out and participate with others your age.

We’re running a Briggs L0206 sealed 4-stroke program and a Rotax sealed 2-stroke program and do our best to incorporate other existing non-conforming engines into appropriate classes as we see fit. 

In case you’re thinking this is “amusement category” concession type kart racing, just wait till you see the senior Rotax class put the pedal to the metal down the straights.   We’re talking wheel to wheel competition through the chicanes and excitement from the moment the flag drops.

Did you know we also have adult classes too?   It’s a blast and truth be told those cheering from the sidelines have as much fun as the drivers behind the wheel!
